Madam Linda S R Beckley-Thomas, a Sierra Leonean, joined the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM) on September 1, 2023. Prior to
her appointment as Manager, Library and Publications Unit, she worked at the Bank of Sierra Leone in then Research Department (Library and Archive Section) for a period
of twelve (12) years i.e. 2001 – 2013 until the Section was hived off to the Human Resources Department. She was transferred to the Training Section in 2013, served
for ten (10) years and rose to the rank of Assistant Manager. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with (Honours) in Library, Archive and Information
Studies in 2010, obtained from the Institute of Library, Information and Communication Studies (INSLICS), Fourah Bay College (FBC), University of Sierra
Leone and was awarded as ‘Best All-Rounder’ (INSLICS) by the University of Sierra Leone in collaboration with the African Minerals Limited, Sierra Leone. In 2013, she
obtained a Master in Public Administration from the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone. She also holds several
certificates including: Diploma in Library Studies, International Diploma in Modern Management and Administration, Diploma in Computer Operations etc. She has
attended capacity building programmes such as Managing Human Resources for Organisational Effectiveness, Strategic Human Resource Policies and Talent
Management Skills to Transform Organisations, Designing and Implementing Policy, Project and Programme Evaluation Systems, Effective Communication & Report
Writing as well as Staff Training organised by the West African Institute for Financial and Economic Management (WAIFEM), African Regional Technical Assistance Centre
in West Africa (AFRITAC West 2) and the African Institute of Management Science (AIMS).
Additionally, she is a member of the Sierra Leone Association of Archivists, Librarians and Information Professionals (SLAALIP).
Madam Beckley-Thomas is blessed with a lovely daughter.
