Dr. (Mrs.) Patricia A. Adamu is an International and Development Economist with the following credentials: Ph.D. Economics, M.Sc. Economics and Statistics, M.Sc.
Banking and Finance, B.Ed. (Hons) Economics, and NCE Economics. She won the best graduating student Award in NCE Economics as well as M.Sc. Banking and Finance,
and she is also a scholar of the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Dr. Adamu’s areas of specialization include: Macroeconomics, International Economics and Economic Development/Human Capital Development. She has
published several articles in indexed national and international journals and books.
She is currently an Assistant Director, at WAIFEM.
Prior to her appointment in WAIFEM, Dr. Adamu was a Lecturer at the College of Education Ekiadolor (full-time), Benin City and the University of Benin (part-time)
where she taught the following courses: Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Quantitative Methods, Public Finance, International Trade and Labour Economics.
Dr. Adamu was at the International Monetary Fund(IMF) as a Visiting Scholar, and has attended national and international courses at the Bank of International
Settlements, Basel, Switzerland; the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and the World Trade Organisation (WTO). She has also consulted for the United Nations
Development Programme (UNDP) and ECOWAS Commission, and facilitated in the UNDP training programme on pro-poor fiscal policy management for five Nigerian
States, as well as the Central Bank of Nigeria under the aegies of WAIFEM.
Dr. Adamu is an experienced process facilitator whose preoccupation is to elicit excellent performance in organisations committed to transformation and renewal.
She is a teacher, writer, manager, researcher, consultant, and above all, a program initiator, implementer and coordinator towards the achievement of desired goals.
Dr. Adamu is a life member of the Nigerian Economic Society, a member of the International Economic Association Young African Scholars Program, African
Econometric Society, National Association for Research Development, and a Fellow of the Economics Institute / Consulting Economists Academy, West African
(ECOWAS) Region. She is happily married with children and grandchildren.
